Mr Phil. Walsh, the clever IrishAmerican comedian, who with his dramatic company appears at' the Municipal Theatre on Friday evening in "The American Tramp," converses familiarly of events and places such as the Iriquois holocaust at Chicago, where 60:> people lost their lives by stampede and fire, and the. gigantic tragedy of the San Francisco earthquake, where at the time Mr Walsh was residentmanager of the magnificent seven-mil-lion dollar theatre The Majestic, and where, by the way, Miss Nellie Stewart made lier first American appearance. Mr Walsh directed the stage and played "Sheridan" in the first American production of "Tom Moore," and with Mr Andrew Mack journeyed to this country two years ago. After the disbandment of Mr Mack's company, Mr Walsh organised and brought to New Zealand a company of players, opening in Auckland City, where lie played a record season of eight weeks, playing no less than 16 plays. The company appear for positively one night only, the theatre being otherwise engaged. Seats may now be reserved at the Dresden Piano Company.
