[By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.] (Per Press Association.) Received July 12, at 10.10 p.m. London, July 12. The Players lost nine wickets for 198. Le Couteur, for the Gentlemen, captured 4 wickets. Lord Harris, speaking; at the •Cricketers' Fund Friendly Society s meeting earnestly hoped every eftort would be made to realise the triangular matches. Many longed to see the result of the South African team in Australia, where the Africans peculiar bowling would be tested on the very fast wickets. Received July 12, at 2.10 p.m. London, July 11. In the match at Lords,. Gentlemen v. Players, the Gentlemen made 114, Le Couteur 22 (not out). W. C. Smith took five wickets for eighteen runs. Received July 13, at 11.5 a.m. London, July 12. In the match Gentlemen v. Players, the la£ter made 209, Lo Couteur taking four wickets for 56. The Gentlemen in the second innings only scored 95, Hirst taking four wickets for 18. The Players won by 10 wickets.
