ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
(Per Press Association.) Dunediu, July 11. At the inquest as to the death of the old man J. M'Council. who was killed at the Rattray street level goods crossing on Friday evening, the jury returned a verdict of accidental death, and added a rider affirming that greater precautions should be taken at this crossing, and suggesting the lowering of the iron fence and erection of warning bells; also, that one porter was insufficient for the safety of the public during filnmting operation.-. Auckland. July 11. Charles John Dimmoek. a youim man, 22 years of age. residing with his parents at Jervois Koad. i'oMMiiibv, v.as found in hi-; bedroom about 8 o'clock this evenii!;: by his slsi'-r in an unconscious condition. A docror was summoned. but on iirriviiv: :»-quarter of an hour later p*-« mount-cl !:!'<• to be extinct. By Dimmock's bedside was found a bottle of lysol, half empty. All the circumstances point to a case of suicide.
