At the sheep sales-the grand champion ram Sylandor fetched 450 guineas, being purchased for.. n South , ; Africa, while a special stud rain was v"purchased by the Orange River Government at 410 guineas, both from Gibson! s Eskdale flock, of Tasmania. Of British' breeds, on account of the Moeraki Estate, 81 Lincoln' rams averaged £3 Is 3d and 20 ewes averaged £4 3s. On account of Mr Dowthwaite .(Waihao Downs), 14 Lincoln ram 'hoggets':averaged 3Jgns, and a few ewe hoggets averaged 4Jgns. .Oh account: of JMri Hay (Pigeon Bay), seven Dorsethorn rams averaged a guinea, and 11? Dorset ewes averaged' 2gns.
