PERSONAL.
Mr James Mitchell is to have opposition in his representation of the Northern Ward of the Otago Education District in the person of Mr A. Kilpatrick; of Waitati. Just as he was returning from lunch yesterday Mr Frank Fox, traffic clerk in the office of the Christchurch Tramway Board, was suddenly taken ill, and collapsed. He was carried into the Board's offices, and medical assistance summoned, but before the doctor arrived Mr Fox was dead. Deceased was a single man, about 30 years of age, and his - parents reside in England. Mr Frank H. Hart, of. The Press literary staff, has been appointed editor of the Tiniaru Herald. He will take up his new duties at the end of August. Mr W. Wylie was to-day re-elected to represent the Waitaki County Council on the Oamaru Harbor Board, the vacancy being caused by Mr Wylie's resignation. The Chairman expressed a hope that Mr Wylie would . reconsider his decision to cease go represent the Board, and, Mr Wylie consenting, on Mr Sutherland's motion, seconded by Mr Newlands, he was reappointed. Mr H. A. Dovey was to-day elected as the Waitaki County Council's representative on the Waitaki Hospital and Charitable Aid Board, to fill the vacancy caused by the death of the late Mr R. Blair.
