The Premier, in reply to questions, said the Government had not lost sight of the declared objects of its policy, and added that he was unable to include representatives of Labor and other sections of the party in the conference.
The Labor members of the House of Commons, Mr Barnes presiding, declared that the veto resolutions, passed by the House, admit of no modification, and they therefore protested against any assumption of authority 'by the front benches to go behind the decision of the House.
