This will necessarily cause the postponement of. the American tariif negotiations till the autumn. The Government is mcan-v.-hile sounding Canadian manufacturers and producers, whose opinion does not favor the proposals. The National Association of Manufacturers of the United .States favors, closer trade relations, and an agreement for the construction of a new through water route from the wheat lands.
