THE KING'S DECLARATION.
AN IRKSOME DISCRIMINATION. [By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.] (Per Press Association.) Received May 12. at 1.30 a.in. London, May 11. The Times says although it is reasonable that men of all religions might not ho agreed on the wording of the Accession declaration, and it might be modified with advantage, it seems impossible 111 sit a Hill effecting specific changes could be carried within the time at Parliament's disposal, inasmuch as this would necessitate unanimity. The limes indicates that besides urgency for ill" civil list it i.s necessary to carrv the Uegenev Hill forthwith, for the heir to the throne being two vea rs under a*_fe. provision must be made for the pos.-ibility of a minority. Steps will be taken to induce Mr Burns and f.ord Crewe- to secure a revision ol the King's declaration. The Daily News says the Government will introduce a Bill to amend the declaration by omitting the words '"superstitious and idolatrous," and substituting "contrary to my belief."
