EGYPTIAN AFFAIRS.
THE PERIL OF THE FANATIC. [By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.] (Per Press Association.) Received April 2S, at 11.5 p.m. . London April 2S. In a Jlluc Book on Etivpt in the year ini)!) fcir fildon Gorst declares that'the Nationalist party is :nornlly responsible for Boutros Pasha's murder, which was due to the criminal incitements of selfstyled patriots. it would be calamitous if the improvement, which had begun to manifest itself in the attitude of the country towards its rulers, should be cut short by tiie mad act of an individual, and justification given to the numerous elements who advocate stern repression. The best tribute that Boutros .Pasha's colleagues can pay to his memory is to ensure a continuance of his work of pacification. Sir Eldou Gorst admits that the press law, which was revised for the purpose of curbing incitements to crime, is applied with excessive moderation, but says that unless matters improve, it will be applied with greater severity.
