WAIMATE HARRIERS' SPORTS.

The above sports were held yesterday afternoon in the presence of a fair gathering of the public, who, despite the bitterly cold- weather, took a keen interest in the different events. The Pipeßand was in attendance, and played a" programme of national airs. The following were the results:— 100 Yards Harrier Club Handicap.— J. M'Dougall (scr), 1; J. Bird (6yds), 2. Footballers' 135 Yards Sheffield Handicap.—W. Lindsay (11yds), i; A. Hendry (6yds), 2. 440 Yards School Handicap. —J. M'Carthy (9yds), 1; G. Lundon (12yds), 2. 440 Yards Ladies' Bracelet. —J. M'Dougall (scr.), 1; R. Conhell, 2; J. Bird, 3. 75 Yards Ladies' Hockey Club Handicap.—Miss M. M'Donald, 1; Miss V. Meyers, 2. Five_ young ladies started in a very interesting race. Mr G. Butcher's Cup (mile scratch race open to Harriers attending 16 runs during the season). —J. Healey won easily. Three started. 220 Yards Handicap (run in heats). — Final: R. Connell, 1; D. Taylor, 2. Officials' Race.—W. Dailey, 1; A. J. Hoskins, 2; J. Black, 3. W. J. Wills and E. Hassall also started. Relay Race (medals presented by Mr ; Dawser). —Hiwiroa A team, 1; Hiwiroa B team, 2. Relay Race (medals presented by Club). —Hiwiroa A team> 1; Hiwiroa B team. 2. Relay Race (medals presented by Mr M'Dougall).—Won by team consisting of J. Symon, A. Hendry, S. Wilce, and A. G. Nicolls. Four learns competed. Half-mile Harriers' Handicap (first prize presented by Mr E. Hassall, second prize presented by Harriers'. Club). —J. Symon (20yds), 1; G. Butcher (15yds), 2. Twelve started. . One and a-half Mile Steeplechase Handicap (prizes presented by Mr G. M'Kerizie and Mr Logan).—G. Butcher (scr), 1; J. Menzies (125 yds), 2. Twelve started. A very good race, in which a lad named D. Miller gamely ran himself to an absolute standstill.

Consolation Race. —A. Nicolls (7yds), 1; W. Healey (syds), 2. Ten started.
