DOMINION DAY.
(Pee Press Association.) Wellington, September 3. A deputation representing the Wellington Ministers' Association and Sunday .School Union waited on Mr Fowlds as Acting Minister of Defence, to protest- against what is understood to be a proposal to hold a combined church service of volunteers and school cadets on Dominion Day, which this year falls on Sunday, the argument being that such a parade materially interferes with the attendance at Sunday school. Mr Fowlds said it was his express desire to have a recognition of Sabbath in connection with the Dominion Day observance. Arrangements were in the hands of officers commanding the districts, but they were instructed, if objection were made to a combined service, that arrangements be made for an ordinary Church parade, the members of the volunteer and cadet corps assembling at their own churches.
