; • —Technical" Classes.— A meeting of the Association held last evening was attended by Dr Barclay and Messrs Akhurst, Gran.t, San- , clers,- Morgan, and Beckett. The [ secretary reported that subscriptions | received to date amounted to £42 Bs, as against £36 13s for last year. Mr ' Hassall wrote suggesting the formation , of an ambulance class. Mr Sanders • pointed out that several small places around Waimate had such classes and ' lie thought the proposal should be supported. Members generally considered that it was now too in the season to commence fresh classes. . It was decided, however, that as the members are invited to a banquet at the Technical School on Wednesday next, to hold the matter over for decision until after the banquet. (Surely the members do not expect'to require first-aid afiter sampling the efforts of the cookery plasses.) It was reported that the photography class had not filled up. Accounts amounting to £3 13s Id were passed for payment. —Football.— The sub-union met last night and in response to a request from North Otago agreed to, play a return match on Thursday, 16th September. The seven-a-side tournament was postponed to 23rd September, so as not to clash with the ploughing match."
