THE >TK\Y TIiLE-TABLE. (Pek Pkess Assoclvtion.) Wellington, March 24. The accelerated express train services to come into operation on April 1 have been linally arranged. The express now leaving Christchurch at 8 a.m. takes lohr smm to reach Inverciiriiiil. Under the new arrangement this i.; 'cut- down to 13hr lOmin, by 'cutting out about a dozen stops. On the northward journey the express will be timed as follows at the more important towns: In vert-argil I. <!ej>. 6.15 a.m.; Gore, 7.54; Clinton, "8.50; JSak-liitha. 9.52: IJunedin, 11.15: Oamaru, 2.58 p.m.: Timarti, 4.17; Tenuika, 4.58: Ashbnrton, 5.55; llakaia, 6.25: Christehnrch (arr.), 7.27. lloing south, the trtiin will leave at 8a.iii., as at present, and arrive at Oamaru afc 12.47, and at Dunedin at 4 o'clock <instead of 5.8), and arrive at Invercargill at 9.50 p.m. On Tuesdays, Thursday, and Saturdays the express from the south will be able to connect at Lyttelton with the ilaori for Weliinaton, but on Holidays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, the Mararoa, which fills the t;ap between the islands, will not be able to connect with the Xorth Island express if its departure is delayed, 60 that the only connection will be that furnished by the S a.m. from Dunedin, catching the steamer at about 6.50 p.m. In the Xorth Island, -under the present arrangement, there is. some difficulty in making the connection with the 7.50 a.m. express for Xl-w Plymouth, and the Railway Department- has arranged that this train shall be put back to 8.15 a.m., thus giving ample time for the transfer of passengers and baggage. A few small stops have !vr n eliminated from the- time-table, and the express will consequently reach .Vow Plymouth at its usual time—B p.m.
