THE BALDWIN CASE.
(Pep. Pbess Association-.) Wellington, March 24. Regarding the case of the man Baldwin, who was refused permission to land at Lyttelton ; the Minister of Customs (the Hon. A.' W. Hogg) states that the case had been before the Customs Department for the 'ast two years, and the present .Minister and his predecessor had both refused the man permission to land. The man's relatives were neither able nor willing to maintain lim, and permission would not be granted without the execution of a bond required by section 4 of the. Immicration Restriction Act.
