A blue skv. hot sun, and :i smart breeze, mainly a few degrees to the left rear, characterised the weather conditions, but some feature or other of them did not fit in with the requirements ol the competitors, lor the shooting was by no means as brilliant as had been the case on the previous four days. The Auckhnd and Otago final stages were fired simultaneously from the Collins, Somerville and fseddon ranges, and were completed about 2 p.m. At the 600 vards range of the Auckland Mat'h no possibles were registered, and the match was won by James (.Valuer), whese score at each range was an allout, thus- aggregating 93, remarkably fine shooting. Uewar (Uumani). Guy [kapuuira). and F. Shaw (Auckland) came next, each with two points short of the win iter. A few 59"s were put up. The trickv breeze made the shooting of some o; the crack marksmen "in-and-out," and the same applies to the shooting at 900 vards. The Otago Match was woo by Storkey (Vapier). who put on 46 ai 900 yards and a possible at 300 vards. Two other possibles were achieved. Clyde (Uaikari) and MaintMv iPiakoj being credited with them.
