The fir.st sitting of the Commission of Inquiry into the charges ii.gain.st the management and employees of the Addingtrin Railway Workshops w;is held to-<!ay, tho Commission consisting of Professor K. J. IScott (Cliairnian) and Messrs J. J. Niven (Napier) and: K. Roberts (Dnnedin). Mr A. L. Beattie, Chief Mechanical Engineer, representative of the officers of tho locomotive branch, is also present. The Chairman said the meeting was purely formal, and it would adjourn till 10 a.m. next day, after making visits of inspection to the works to obtain first-hand information.
