Formal correspondence was read as follows:—.Minister of J.ahor. re halt-holi-day ; ISalelutha Town Clerk, re lire manual, asking for exhibition; Mr C. K Bremner thanking Council for their com: plimentary resolution ; Mr C. .1. CoopeK re Fire Board meeting. It was proposed by Councillor Coltmau and seconded by Councillor Jnkster, that the question of making arrangements for watering the streets be referred, to the Water Committee, with power to act. — Carried. A formal resolution was carried deciding to charge half the cost of -concrete; channelling and asphalting Urigson, Shear-'. man, and High streets footpaths to': the owners of adjoining properties. " It was resolved' that the Town Clerk, visit AshliiirtoTt and make an. inspection of their,methods of constructing footways' and channels.
