A picnic of the Waitaki South settlers was held last Alonday in Alessrs Shea Bros , paddock. -Perfect weather, a bright cloudlees sky, a warm sun, and a cooling breeze —these were the climatic conditions that greeted visiters. ' The committee worked hard to make the function a. success, and most 'cf the items on the programme were disposed 1 of with an alacrity that was commendable. Of the valuable trophies awarded as prizes, Air H. Shea won Air W. Williams' silver" medal for most points in athletic events. There were no" records broken, although the young ladies race, of 120 .yards, was timed at 12 seconds, and the "winner might well compete with AFE/achlan over the distance. Tho Committee supplied hot water, tea, sugaT, and milk, and the luncheon was not unlike a big Alaori feast, for ali; visitors and hosts, sat down together as one. The committee supplied the means of conveyance for visitors from Glemvy to the picnic grounds free cf charge. Following are the results:—
