A New Ridger.

A most successful trial of Messrs Cooper and Duncan's improved disc ridger took place on Mr James Hole's farm, Toksrahi, in the presence of a representative gathering of farmers. The machine was tried under various conditions, and the farmers expressed themselves as thoroughly well satisfied with the work done. The chief advantage of this ridger, compared' with others,' was clearly demonstrated by the manner in which the damp soil was taken from the sides and deposited in the centre of the ridges, leaving an efficient seed bed. A practical appreciation of the machine was shown by five orders being placed with the local agents (Messrs J. and T. Meek), the purchasers being Messrs James Hore, TokaraHi ; William Sutherland-, Duntroon ; Thomas M'Quade, Livingstone; John Grant, 1 Tokarahi, and Jameis Phillips, Kurow. At the TequesV of several largo turnip-growers, other trials -are being arranged, due notice of which will appear in our columns.
