London, December 6. Sir H. Campbell-Ban Herman kissed hands on appointment, and expressed the hope that he would lie able to submit a list of the Ministry on Monday. It is expected a dissolution will take place before the middle of January, and Parliament will meet lict'ore the end of February. Admiral Sir J. Fisher has been promoted Admiral of the Fleet. It is officially announced that the Channel Atlantic and Mediterranean fleets, with three squadrons of armored cruisers, will assemble in Portugal in the middle of February to execute combined exercises under the chief direction of Admiral Wilson.
A portion of the roof of Charing Cross Station, undergoing repairs, collapsed with the workmen and demolished the east wall of the .Avenue Theatre and stage, where, the proprietor, architect, and others were consulting in reference to alterations. The fall of the .Stag'-, machinery, and masonry injured many.
