The opinion wan against tho secretary residing in Wellington.

I he Fanners' Union Conference conclud ed the debate on politics thin morning by carrying the following resolution unanimously: "That, it be an instruction from this Conference to the Executive l.liat, two questions dealing with freehold and franchise be drawn up and sent lo tho Provincial Executives, togclher with mieli oilier quest ions as they consider of colonial importance to the I'nion to be submitted through the branches lo the various candidates at, the coming general election, with a, recommendation that the members of the collective branches use Ihe weight of their influence to support, the one candidate only in each electorate who replies satisfactorily to such questions."
