(Peii Press Association.) Received July 11, at 9 a.m. London, July 10. The Australians began a match against Derbyshire to-day. Tilts home leam con sists of Wright. Ollivierre, 11. T. Wright, Hunter, Ashcroft, Marph's, Cailman, Million, Humphries, Bestwick, and WilUdeii. M'Leod, Newhiiul, Uul'f, and Howell are not playing for the Australians. The weather"was muggy and the wicket, tricky. Tho attendance wa.s only moderate. Derbyshire won the toss and sent, the visitors in to bat. Armstrong was howled when the total was 24. and Hill retired when 45 wa.s on the board. Noble was tho next to go. and three wickets were down for 77, of which Trumper, who was playing a forcing game, had scored 35, though bis innings was marred by chances at 13 and 30. Gre gory was caught, at 98 and Trumper was the next- to go at. 121. He had been batting for 80 minutes, and hit eight fourers. Hopkins retired at 129; then barling and Guhrs made a stand, and (lie score now stands at G for 154.
