By Telegraph. Christchurch, August 18. Tho weather prospects last evening looked very unfavorable for this continuation of the Grand National mooting today. Rain fell steadily most of tho night, and though it ceased this morning ami the weather cleared towards midday the course was much heavier than on Tuesday. Results : Club Cup.—Tekohuu 1, llovrlock 2, Craigmore 3. Scratched : Euros and Mokowhiti. Won easily by six lengths. Time, smin 29 3-sth sec. Dividend, £5 3s. Sumner Handicap.—Tho Mohican 1, Bayonet 2, Shollfiro 3. All started. Won by two lengths. Timo, 2min 51sec. Dividends, £5 Ss and £4 ss. August Handicap.—Brighton 1, Flowpr o' Clutha 2, Ability. All started. A good finish; won by tluee-qiurters of a length. Time, lmin 23see. Dividends, £6 10s 6d and £1 16s.
Grand National Hurdles.—Mcdallius 1, Hippowai 2, Scottish Minstrel 3. All started. Slow Tom and Hautapu made the running in the early stages, but coming out of the back stretch 'f'upara and Huku wore in tho loading division. They soon retired beaten, and a splendid finish resulted in favor of Mrdalliuo l>y a head, the same distance betwiwi second mid third. Timo, 4min 1 l-sth sec. Dividends, £l4 3s and £4 ss. Tahao fell at the last hurdle when going well. Beaufort Steeplechase.—Phaotonitis 1, Haydn 2, Sultana 3. Scratched : Pipi and Crcspin. Won comfortably by two lengths. Time, smin 16 l-sth s-ec. Dividends, £2 lis and 17s 6d.
