A conference of co-operative butter factories favored the Bill to enforce grading. It was agreed to export to London all the spring output above local requirements, with, a view of maintaining the price of prime butter in Sydney at ninepence, and specially selected 9£d. Melbourne, August 17. At the butter commission, Mr Sinclair, formerly Government agent in London, accused Mr Taverner, the Minister of Agriculture, of- arranging with the company personally to act as their agent in obtaining shipping produce, and also accused him of shipping inferior lamb, some of which was seized as unfit for human consumption, and branding it with the Government's certificate. Ho declared that Mr Taverner had secretly applied for a site for the refrigerating workt. Beceived August 17, at 10.4 a.m. 8 Sydney, August 17. •The Jockey 'Club report shows a profit of £5577 on'the year's transactions.
