Rear-Admiral Hedworth Lamb ton claims an unreserved apology from Sir Archibald Hunter, who, -before the Elgin Commission, complained that the naval gunnery at Ladysmith left everything to be desired, and that schoolgirls could make equal practice. RearAdmiral Lanibton declared that the practice was' extremely brilliant, and that Sir Archibald' Hunter was an ignorant numbskull. •
Sir Archibald Hunter has been appointed commander of the Madras Army.
