The auctioneers report- having lutd a large entry yesterday of all classes of stock, and there was a very good attendance of farmers and -others. The- entry consisted of 60 dairy cows, of which a good fewwere passed, but anything like good cowts coming to calf realised good prkv.j, £lO 2s 6d being the top price. 393 store cattle, came forward; 1500 sheep arid cattle came forward, 1500 sheep, and 50 pigs. The following are the prices obtained: .Sheep,—Pat wethers -and maid-en ewes, medium, 17s 4d to 18s lid ; store hoggete, 14s to 15s Id; a- lino of 918 huggefeTweie passed at 16s. GRAIN SALE

The New Zealand Loan and .Mercantile Agency Company, 'Limited, held a, grain sale on Monday in Christchurch, when a good catalogue of grain and general produce was offered. Nearly every lot was sold under fair competition. Wheat was in belter demand, especially good whole fowl feed and clean seconds. Feed oats sold readily at from Is 6d to Is 7d. The range of prices was Wheat : Good 3s 8d to 3s 9d, medium and inferior fowl wheat 3s to 3s 6d, seconds 2s 7d to- os 3d. Oats : Heavy Is 7d to Is Bd, lighter sorts Is 5d to Is 6d.
