CLEARING WALKS,

Messrs Fleming and HedKy report having held a must successful ualc yesterday on account of Mr John lilatk, dairyman, Cheliner street, whose lease expiree at the.end of this month, of his entire lu-rd of superior dairy cattle. Mr Black lias been dairying for the last 28 yearn, juid every cow ottered \va.s bred by himself. The cows were all young, only one being' past her third calf, the average for the twelve rows being £9 8i; 6<l. There was not a very large attendance of farmers and others, but those present were there with the intention of buying. The following prices were obtained £l3, £ll 15s, £lO 15s, £lO 15<;, £lO 12s 6d, £lO 2s 6d, £9, £B, £7 17s 6d, £7 ss, £7 2s 6d. £6 17s 6(1; two late calvens £(j and £5 15«; Ayrshire bull, £2 ; calves, lis to 16(4 6d ; brood sow £2 15s.

Messrs Fleming and Jlciiley (instructed by the North Otago Farmers' Co-ope rativo Association, Ltd.) report- having held a clearing sale oil Thursday, 171ri instant, on account of Mr /Peter Flannery, on his farm, Ardgowan, of all his live and dead stock. The day was very w<_t, but. notwithstanding this there was a. very gord atlaidance of farmers and others, and the prices realised, did not show a failing-otf from late rates.'
