Sydney, January 6. ;At a meeting called by advertisement: the' Rev/ Tremayne Dunstan explained that the reason that led to his departure was, subsequent, to his return to Australia, the financial difficulty arising in connection with the establishing of a church in Westralia .when he first came to Australia., and gradually increased through his haying to : pay exorbitant interest. The burden became so intolerable that it led to the fatal blunder of his leaving under the belief that he could recover himself by a lecturing tour in America. When he realised the blunder he decided to return and face the situation. He stated that his total indebtedness was under £3OOO. .He believed hecould clear himself. He. complained of harsh treatment by. his New SouthrWales congregation, and repudiated the charges of and trickery current in certain quarters. , He said he had blundered, but was not guilty of intentional acts' of dishonesty. The Premier has promised that. the Cabinet' will further consider the Kenniff appeal to the Privy Council. The : sugar exported to date is 57,345 tons compared with 68,299 for the same period of last year. Melbourne, January 6.
There have been cyclonic storms in the tiity and country, and tremendous .dust storms in some places. The railways are blocked with drifting sand. There is a heavy gale on the coast. Sydney, January 6. The weather is boisterous, with heavy dust storms. A gale is raging on the south coast. .
