The British, with a pom-pom and Maxim, £P ene .? at ®'°® e range, killing six Boers. The Boers fled, abandoning their transport. Colonel Grenfell captured_Fort Klipdam, killing nine and capturing 45 of the enemy. Received May 11. at 0.32 a.m. London. May 10. A shopkeeper at Pearston, Cape Colony, •has been sentenced to ten years penal servitude for recruiting for Commandant K privatfLamb. of the Victorian Mounted Rifles, was killed at Wagerer s Drift. The steamer Morayshire lias sailed from Capetown with 730 returning colonial officers and men.
