(BY TKMMItAI'U.) Pun Press Association. WELLINGTON. December 21. The Governor returned to Wellington from the south this morning. CHRISTCHURCIL December 21. At an inquest this morning on Weakley, the driver of the brewer's dray, who niet with a fatal accident yesterday, n verdict, of accidental death was returned. The jury added a rider that they considered the road dangerous at. the spot where the (incident happened, and drew llio at tent ion of the Sydenham Borough Council thereto. INVKRCAROILL. December 21. Brookes and Tloatley, the escaped prisoners, worn before- Air M'Oorthy, S.M.. to-day. His Worship said that, there had been nothing in tlio misconduct of moused beyond an attempt to escape mid being found in possession of n. loaded firearm, the purposo of which might have been solely to provide food. The accused, who, it. was stated, had used no violence, were sentencid to simple confinement, -without irons, in a light cell for 15 d'ays.
