NOXIOUS WEEDS.

(by telegraph.) (From Our Own Correspondent.) Wellington, July 12. According to promise the Noxious Weeds Bill was circulated to-day. The noxious ■weeds summarily so declared are blackbrny, Californian thistle, and sweetbriar. Six others may be so declared by the local authorities and by the Minister for Lands where there are none. They are: Bathurst burr, broom, giant burdock, gorse, hakea, ragwort or ragwead. Noxious weds generally are to cleared at the proper season of the year. In the ease of gorse, broom, sweetbriar, and blackberry not forming part of a live fence, these must be cleared at the proper season at the rate of a chain, beginning from the outer boundaries, every year, until cleared. Hedges of gorse, broom, hakea, sweetbriar, and blackberry must be trimmed and cut at the proper season, and the refuse must be removed and destroyed in the case of these two latter, and in the former only in cases where the dence abuts on a public road or watercourse. Noxious seeds are -summarily declared to be the seeds of the Bathurst burr, blackberry, broom, burr, : clover, clover dodder, dock, dock «rgot, i fat: hen, gorse oxeye daisy, sweetbriar, thistle (any species), wild turnip, and ragworts These cannot bs sold, nor can any unclean seed. Inspectors administer the Act', and the penalty is not- less than ten shillings nor more than £2O, and lu.-pec-tors have the same discretion to lighten the provision.
