April 14. It i 3 reported that the Defence Department sent a second Maxim gun to Auckland yesterday for service at Samoa, if needed. April 15. In the Divorce Conrt, in the caae of Brimfield v. Brimfield, the wife's petition, a decree nisi was granted. The parties were formerly residents of Roxburgh, Otago. The case of Manning, of Christchurch, v. Manning and Robert Colquett was partly heard this morning and adjoarned until this afternoon. The alleged adultery is supposed to have taken place at Petone, where respondent keeps a boarding-house. In the case of Ejaigge v. Knlgge, the wife's petition, the respondent Is aged 60. A decree nisi was granted, The husband is indigent, and the question of alimony to be paid by the petitioner was adjourned. H. A. Engall, in charge of the note department of the Bank of New Zealand, died suddenly in a bus, while coming from Worser Bay this morning. He leaves a widow and one child.
