The inquiry instituted some time ago into tbe condition and prospects of British trade with China has been resumed in "England. Consideration is to be given to the report of Lord Beresford upon his inquiries with regard to the prospects of British trade in China. Pabis, December 20. It is stated that M. Dnpuy is afraid to notice or take any precautions with reference to Victor Napoleon's visit to Paris, fearing that, if he did so. General Zurlinden would give the 6ignal for a rising in the army. The Anti-Semitic League has posted a proclamation in Paris recalling M. de 3?reyclnet*s recent admissions in the Chamber as to the compromising character of the ultra-secret dossier. M. de Freycinet then stated that, if tbe portions of the dossier in which names were mentioned were revealed, it woald be a danger to the State. The proclamation states that the people will act if tbe Government fail to protect the State.
