(Lyttelton Times). The inquiry for wheat has been very sluggish. Although one or two lines have been sold at quotations, millers do not seem very anxious to buy Oats have met with a slightly improved demand for feed quality, but the prices are still too high to compete with Southland. No business is doing in barley. In sympathy with the Sydney market, potatoes are becoming firmer, and farmers are now accepting from L 5 10s to L 5 153, according to the station. A small outside inquiry for oatsheaf chaff coctlnurs. The following are th 9 quotations : Wheat (nominal). —Pearl 3s 9d ; Tuscan- 33 9d to 3s lOd ; Hunter's 33 7d to 3s Bd. Oats (nominal). —Seed 2s 7d to 2s 9d, milling Canadians 2s 7d, stout feed 2s 5d to 2s 6d; Duns and Danish 2s 3d to 2s sd. Barley. New prime malting 4s 6d, good 4s, feed 3s to 3s 4d (nominal). Flour.—Millers quote roller Ll2, stone Lll, sharps L 4 10s, bran L 3 10s. Oatmeal.—Ll4. Oatsheaf Chaff. —L2 153 at country stations for bright clean quality. Beans.—Scarce, 3s 6d to 3s 9d. Peas.—Blue Prussians 4s 2d to 4s 3d ; Partridge 33 3d to 3s 6d. Potatoes. —Derwents L 5 10s to L 5 15a, at country stations. Seeds. —Ryegrass, farmers' dressed lines 2s 6d to 3s 3d, and extra choice up to 3s 6d, Cocksfoot, farmers' dressed lines 2|d to 3|d, and extra choice 3£d. Cowgrass 5d to 6d. White clover, 5M to 7d. Dairy Produce.—Cheese 3id to 4d, loaf 4d to sd. Butter—Fresh factory Is 3d/ ditto in boxes Is 2d, North Island factory Is, best dairy lOd io lid, salt (in box9s) 9d to lid for prime. Bacon and hams 6£d to Bd. The above prices, except where otherwise stated, are those paid to farmers f.o.b. Lyttelton.
