The effect of the betting decision was apparent at the winter meeting of the Jockey Club yesterday. Tho attendance was very poor, and bookmakers were less in evidence. A number, whose names were taken by the police, risked prosecution, and freely accepted cash bets. The majority, however, confined themselves to booking bets.
