TURKEY AND GREECE.

Later reports show that the fighting in the vicinity of Raveni proved disastrous to the Greeks. The Turks eventually repelled the attack on Vigalia, and captured one of the Grecian batteries. The Turkish forces are now in Turv, invading the districts in Epirus held by the Greeks. Received April 21, at 9.44 a.m. Athens, April 20. Further particulars of the battle in Maluna Pass state that the struggle was fierce and stubborn. The Turk?;, commanded by Edhem Pasha in person, slowly gained the heights and occupied the chief defiles of the Pass. They fought with great decision. The artillery, under Riz* Pasha, tired with remarkable ac curacy at a range of *4)00 yards. The whole Pass rang with the roar of artillery and the continuous firing of the infantry. Men calmly replaced their dead comrades and faced showers of bullets. Edhem remained gravely impassive and received the reports of che generals as to the state of the battle on scraps of blood-ttained paper. The hilltops on the northern side of the Pass are strewn with dead Greeks. Fearing' an extension of the battle to Elassona, in Thessaly, the residents of the town took to (light. The victory gained by the Turks at Maluna gives them command of the road leading to the Greek headquarters. Fighting at Karya continues, and 20«"> Turks and 1000 Greeks have already been killed.

The armies are engaging each other from opposite hillsides, and the artillery fire is especially heavy. Reports from Elassona state ihat fighting has commenced at .Janina, in Albania.
