Trades and Labor.
(by telegraph.) Dunedin, April 20. Afc the conference of the Trades and Labor Council delegates to-day, Mr A. Judge was appointed chairman and Mr D. P. Fisher secretary. The Master and Apprentice Bill was considered seriatim, and various amendments were made, after which it was agreed to. The Eight Hours BilT was also amended so as to include the Government among the employers. It was decided to ask the Government to introduce a minimum wage Bill, and to reintroduce the Wages Protection Bill of last year, with the exception of six words in clause 7, which, if amended, would make the Act apply to workers employed on the co-operative system in connection with any department of the Government. Ifc was also resolved to again urge the Government to establish State tailoring workshops.
