(CST TE'LEURAFII.) WELLINGTON. March 25. The Minister for Public Works has promised to consider the advisability of using water gaa for the colony's lighthouses. The annual report of the New Zealand Rugby Union states that a proposal will bo made at the annual meeting on April 24th, to send a team to Sydney and Queensland. The ordinary revenue shows a credit of L 57, but on the visit of the Queensland team there is a loss of L 135, and the Committee suggest that, with a view to wipe off the debt a match North v. South be played at Wellington prior to the team leaving for Australia, provided, of course, that the proposal to send a team is accepted ; also that the team return via Auckland, playing there, and a portion oE the profits go to the Union.

TIMARU. March 23. A Magisterial inquiry was held at Geraldino this morning into the late Ere at Webbers store. The jury found a verdict that the tire was wilfully caused by Webber, who was at once arrested and remanded.
