The English wheat market is steady, the Continental is firm ; and the American declining. At the tallow sales 800 casks were offered, of which 600 were sold. Medium mutton brought 21s 6d; medium beef, 20s 3d. At a sale of sheepskins, 31,778 were offered, of which 3616 were sold. The market showed a general advance of £d to gd, while good shortwools sometimes brought id dearer. Australian butter is quoted at 85s to 90s. A portion of the cattle by the Echuca brought oid.
