Lord Alfred Douglas and Lord Douglas of Hawick, were all present at the close of the trial of Wilde and Taylor. The second son of the Ameer of Afghanistan, who is at present on a visit to England, is to Iks lavishly entertained by Royalties. In company with the Prince of Wales and Duke of Cambridge, he was present at the ceremony of trooping the colors, and expressed himself surprised and delighted at what he had seen. He was afterwards introduced to the Princess of Wiles, Duches3 of York, and Doke of Saxe-Coburg. The Boml>ay correspondent ol the Times, referring to the recent attacks on the British outposts, says that if the British evacuate Chitral the tribes, fearing the transfer of the country to Afghanistan, will be cfertain to appeal to Russia for protection and assistance. The steamer Khio collided in the Channel with the steamer Duke of Buckingham, from Queensland to London. The latter vessel sustained damage to her insulating chamber, but the captain does not think her meat cargo has been injured. ______________
