Beerbohm's areolar attributes the firmness of wheat to a belief thnt the year's crop will be 15.000.000 quarters below last year's. It is rumored that Mr R. C. Baker, C.M.G.. President of the South Australian Legislative Council, will be madn a K.C.M.G.. and Mr G. Hawker, exSpeaker and ex-Minister of the Crown, of the same colony, a Knight Batchelor. Wilde and Taylor are being tried separately, the latter beine taken Brst. Sir E. Clarke opposed this course, but afterwards asked that Wilde's case should be postponed till next session. The Jadge, however, said that he would wait for the result of Taylor's case before deciding. The evidence of Parker and Woods as to the conduct of Wilde in Taylor's room was taken to-day, and remained unshaken.
