THE GARRISON BAND BAZAAR.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —The Garrison Band have no intention of pursuing the correspondence with "Publico," as to do so would be only a waste of their time, with the probable result of exhausting the patience of your readers. It is impossible to argue with one who constantly shifts his ground and resorts to all manner of ignoble devices in order to make the worse appear the better cause. They have succeeded in putting matters about which there might have been a doubt in a clear light before the public, and they are content to accept public judgment, strong in their belief that all fair-minded people will give greater credence to statements of fact openly avowed than to the wild assertions of a transparently bitter opponent, who has not the courage to accept the responsibility of his statement, but who takes refuge behind the shelter of a nom-de-plume. As to the identity of "Publico," the Garrison Band have little doubt, and in closing this corresponce, so far as they are concerned, they invite attention to the fact that the Naval's Band have not accepted the challenge to disavow ■'Publico," and that "Publico" has not denied that he is a member of the Navals' Band. In taking leave of " Publico." the Garrison Band thank him for having afforded them an opportunity of advertising their bazaar, the success of which has been placed beyond the region of doubt.—l am, etc., James Bee, Hon. Sec. 0.G.8. [This correspondence must now coase. Ed. O.M.]
