DUNEDIN MARKETS. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, report as under for the week ending February 10: Fat Cattle.—269 head were yarded, mostly good to prime. Low prices had to be accepted for the portion sold, and several drafts were turned out unplaced. Best bullocks brought L 6 10s to L 7 10s; a few extra heavy, L 8 10s; medium to good, L 5 10s to L 6 5s ; light weights, L 3 17s 6d to L 5 5s ; best cows, Lo l;ss to L 6 7s 6d ; medium, L 4 to L 5 7s 6d ; light, L2 10s to L 3 10s. Fat Sheep.—lo69 were penned, including 200 merino wethers. The demand was brisker than last week at the commencement, although towards the close biddings were less active. Best crossbred wethers brought, 13s 6d to 15s 3d ; ordinary, lis 6d to 13s; best do ewes, 12s to 13s; ordinary, 9s 9d to lis 9d ; merino wethers, 7s 6d to 9s. Wheat.—The market is quite bare of prime milling wheat, but even if supplies were on hand there are no buyers. Millers are still unable to make sales of flour in sufficient quantities to make room for wheat. The fluctuations of the market at Home assist to depress the tone of the local market, purchasers looking forward towards a further reduction in prices. The market is fully supplied with medium and inferior quality, but only saleable for fowls' feed. Quotations again nominaL For Northern best milling, 4s 3d to 4s 6d; medium to good, 3s 9d to 4s 3d ; inferior to medium, 2s to 3s 6d (ex store, sacks weighed in, terms). Oats.—There is a moderate demand experienced for best bright and full lines, but to induce buyers to purchase medium quality lower prices have to be accepted compared with those current lately. There is no demand for export of any consequence, and buyers will not purchase except when they have orders on hand, which causes the dullness at present prevailing. This week opened with very bad weather, raining and blowing to an extent that caused a good deal of anxiety. Crops, whether standing or in stook, are bound to suffer. The Taieri Plain especially has suffered very considerably. The farmers we regret to say, will be heavy losers. We have no alterations to make on last week's quotations, which we repeat, viz. : For best milling Is 7d to Is 7Ad ; best bright feed, Is 6Ad to Is 7d ; medium, Is old to Is 6d; inferior, Is 2d to Is 4.U1 (ex store, sacks extra; Jd per bushel more f.o.b. Dunedin). Barley.—There are no sales of any consequence being effected in the meantime, nor very much offerinsr, hardly any coming forward; sufficient, however, for requirements, which are not by any means extensive ; nor do we look for any demand before the new crop comes to hand, and even then we do not anticipate any improvement on last year's prices, unless we are favored with orders for export. Quotations (meantime nomiual): For best malting, 2s 9d to 3s ; medium to good, 2s Od to 2s 8d; feed and milling, 2s to 2s 5d (ex store, sacks extra, terms). Potatoes.—The market fully supplied. Prices range from 25s to 37s 6d per ton. Chaff.—Large supplies to hand this week. The market in consequence is weaker, and prices lower by 7s 6d to 10s per ton. Best is worth 57s 6d to 62s 6d; inferior to medium, 35s to 55s per ton. ABSTRACT OF S-ALES. By Bruce Christie and Co— On Saturday, 13tli February, on the premises—Household Furniture.
