Sir George Grey asked leave to introduce his Bill for the admission of males over 21 years, learned in the law, to practice in the Law Courts. Mr Buckiand interrupted and objected, but leave was sranted, and the short title was announced. September 19. The House sat till 8 o'clock. Ministers stuck to their guns, and despite some trouble carried the general Estimates through, except the item " Public Trust."
I am more than pleased to report that in the opinion of all parties Mr Rees is a phenomenal success iu the chair. One of the most pronounced and prominent Oppositionists told me this morning that in his opinion and that of his friends Mr Rees discharged his duties admirably under the most trying circumstances.
