The Echo says that a German doctor by name Eisemann, has discovered the secret long sought by musicians—namely, the power of producing sound, and of producing a really strong crescendo or decrescendo on the piano. Electromagnetism is his system, and a touch of the new pedal sets the electric stream in movement. But the most curious quality of his discovery is that by simply moving the bar with the electro magnets the whole timbre or quality of the sound may be changed, and the exact tones of, say, the double bass or the flute may be drawn from the piano.
