When tbo wharf laborers were proceeding to unload tbe Pakaki they were informed that it wea Intended tbe stevedore abould discharge tbe steamer in accordance with tbe resolution passed by tbe laborers yesterday. The men therefore refused to work at all. In spite of the resolution at the mass meeting of wharf laborers t -night, their action wan disapproved by the rfficera of tbe Uulon. In consequence of this difficulty the steamship owners decline to discuss tbo new rules put forward by tbe federation of seamen at tbe conference which was arranged with that object to-day, until they were ioformed whether It was ioteoded to support tbo laborers, but saying at tho same time that they were unable to give nn undertaking not to sup-p->rt them. The confereuca thereupon adjourned until Monday. Tbe delegates frnm the Marino Officers Interviewed the owners to-day to ascertain their intentions. Tbo latter replied that they were unable to consider the proposals until they weto assured the officers would not j tin the Maritimo Council; and also stipulating thai the Melbourne officers should withdraw from tho Council.
