AGRICULTURAL CONFERENCE.

(BY TELEQEAPH.) Dunedin, November 3, At the afternoon meeting the order of bualnesß was fixed, and the following resolutions were adopted (1) "That an amalgamation of clabs, to be called the Farmer's Union of New Zealand, and an executive committee of five, be appointed to deal with all details of a formal nature, and to have power to summon a meeting when they consider it necessary; that a meeting be held annually at the time of holding agricultural shows." (2) "That the Conference respectfully reqaest the chairman to communicate with the Government, drawing dt'.ontlon to the fact that in the opinion of the Conferanca the railway oharges for freight on stock and agricultural produca are excesßivo, and opposed to the settlement and colonisation of the colony." (3) "That the duty on mining, agricultural, and other machinery be abolished." (4) "That the Rabbit Act be amended bo that an Inspector, before taking snmmary proceedings, should iuspect the land complained of, with the owner and a witness to be appointed by the rabbit inspector and owner, the case to be determined an his evidence; also, that rabbit proof fencing be included in the Fencing Ac?, and that the various M.H.R 's be communicated with and asked to have the Rabbit Act amended in such a mmner as to give effect to the proposals." (5) " That Government should be urged to make provision on the Estimates for the renewal of the nominated system of immigration." It waa decide d to pronounce the sympathy of the Conference with the aubjaot of intercolonial freetrade, a motion for increasing the duty being defeated by a large majority. The executive was ap T pointed as follow Messrs Green, Borrie, Christie, Cormack, and the ohairman (Air Ball). The Conference adjourned till tomorrow.
