WAIAREKA ROAD BOARD.

The monthly mesting of the Waiareka Road Board was held this morning, there being present Messrs Meek (in tha chair), Falconer, Conlan, Isdale, Raloforth, and Jackson. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. Oatward correspondence was read and approved, and Inward considered as follows : The Commissioner of Crown Lands wrote notifying that the roadline through Mr Hasaell's property had been closed under the Provlccial Ordinance Act, and therefore the negotiation of tbe Bale of the raid roadline rested with the Crown Lands Office. The Clerk considered the action was out of order. Mr Falconer pointed oat that there was no record of the terms of the exchange which made it difficult to determine with whom tbe right of sale rested. Mr Meek thought it wonld be advisable to consult the Board's solicitor. Mr Falconer considered that the proceeds of the sale should belong to Mr HasaelL After a long discussion it was resolved the matter stand over, awaiting further : Inquiry. Mr Cleaves tender was accepted for gravelling 20 chains road at Ngapara, at Is l£d per yard. A request from Messrs Williams, Meek, and Brow&lee, to have the road line past the Education reserve at Waiareka, running through the. western side of section 23, block 3 re-pegged, as the old pegs are not visible, the road having been ploughed up by Mr J. Caraon. i It was resolved to leave the matter over pending Inquiry to be made by the memben of the sub-dirialon. The Olerk of the County Council wrote as follows: 1 "Be Hay's deviation. I am directed < to advise yon that the Council has agreed I to the proposed deviation of road, as < stated in the Board's letter of the 14th I November, and farther, the Council will e bear the coat of fencing (providing the 1 Board does the formation); tenders ' to be called, snd the work carried oat nnder your supervision. The description of fence to be arranged by the former committee, Messrs Isdale and Borrie, and the owner of the land. The Board agreed to the deviation, on the terma stated by the Counsll. . Accounts amounting to L 132 83 8d were passed for payment. The meeting then terminated. 1
