ARRIVAL OF THE R.M.S. RIMUTAKA.

Arrived—Rimu'aka, R.M.S., Captain Greenstreet, from Plymouth, at 5 a.m., after a paasago of 42 days 11 hours. left Plymouth on Oc'ober 20*. h with 335 passengers; landr"! 27 at Teneriffe, 8 at Capetown, and 100 at Hobart, briogtr.g 200 to New Z-;aUtid. The pr.saiae has been a moat eventfal one, r.s on November 8;h, the day before the vessel arrived at Cipetown, Miss Dackwortb. a second-cla33 passenger, fell overboard, and was only rescued jast Id rime by a steerage passenger named Csvill, who pluckily jumped overboard and kept her afljat until a boat arrived on the scene. Captain Greenstreet handled hj» ship remarkably well, aad had her stopped and backed upon the in a very short space of tim?. Miss Duckworth received a very severe sh-rc's, but by careful nursing ahe is much improved. Two days after Ibis unfortunate accident, when tbe vessel was in a heavy g»l« with a cross sea, an A.H. named Y*. Brooke was washed overboard and drowned. A heavy S.E. sale was encountered from November 10; h to November 23rd. On November 27; h a saloon pa?3en;;sr named Alexander Forrest, an acconnraut In the National Bank, Dauedin, died of apoplexy, and was buired at sea. These accidents marred tho enjoyment of the voyage considerably. The passengers and officars aabscribed L 25 for Civill as an acknowledgement of his pluck in rescuing Mis 3 Dackwortb, and L 55 for the mother of tho seaman Brooke, she being dependent upon him' for support.
