Robinson, said that ho did not believe the people of South Australia desired a voice in the appointment of their Governors and certainly In his opinion the responsibility of the appointments should rest fwlth the Imperial Government. It was perhaps reasonable that an opportunity should be allowed the colonies to express their objections in good time if In their opinion there was anything against the proposed appointments. He believed that the Home Government, having necessarily oonducted the recant oorreapendence on the subject by cable had misunderstood the wishes of the colonies. The glove contest for the amateur championship of Australasia took plaoe last night between Geo. Seal and B. G. Sandall, of Auoktand, and ended In a draw In favor of the New Zealander. In the far west districts there haa been no rain.
